I appreciate the confidence that OPSOA members have placed in me as I enter my year as president.

OPSOA fulfills a significant and influential role in the Province of Ontario as it advocates wherever and whenever possible for the needs of students. OPSOA also fulfills an important role in publicly funded education in Ontario as it provides support to its members through its professional activities. OPSOA provides its members with outstanding networking opportunities and allows us to grow personally and professionally as leaders in education. I am proud to be a member of this professional organization!

Through our strategic plan, OPSOA provides the professional voice for public education, and supports members, both supervisory officers and directors of education, through leadership, networking and professional growth opportunities. Through OPSOA, we have a direct influence on the future of public education in the Province of Ontario.

First year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing OPSOA members at CODE. OPSOA represents the voice of Supervisory Officers in advocating for students in the public school system in Ontario. Members have a unique opportunity to share effective strategies, network together, and readily connect with senior education professionals from across the province of Ontario. Together, our collective experience and voice can support our provincial direction in public education, and provide valuable input to the Ministry of Education.

I am honoured to represent PCODE on the OPSOA Board of Directors. The relationship between OPSOA and PCODE is of critical importance in bringing the needs and interests of our students forward. I look forward to continuing the collaboration with OPSOA on behalf of public Directors in Ontario.

I have been a proud member of OPSOA for more than 14 years and it is a privilege to serve on the Board of Directors. OPSOA provides professional services for Supervisory Officers and Directors, numerous networking opportunities for members, as well as providing strategic direction to the province on a multitude of educational issues.

Second year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Niagara, Grand Erie, Hamilton-Wentworth, Upper Grand and Waterloo Region District School Boards. OPSOA for me is a way to reach out to colleagues across our region as well as the Province and share experiences. As we move the student learning agenda forward in the Province of Ontario, we will benefit greatly from each other's experiences and new knowledge creation. OPSOA will also be an opportunity for me to represent the voices of other Superintendents across the region in hopes that we can contribute from the front line, the educational perspective when creating the way forward in public education. Together we can make a difference for each and every student in Ontario.

First year member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Algoma, DSB Ontario North East, Keewatin-Patricia, Lakehead, Near North, Rainbow, Rainy River and Superior-Greenstone District School Boards. As an OPSOA member of 5 years, I proudly sit on the OPSOA Board of Directors. OPSOA proudly advocates for public education in Ontario, addressing issues and proactively providing a strong voice in provincial discussions to the betterment of students, teachers, and OPSOA members. Public education is an essential tenet of our society, providing opportunity, access, and equity to all students. On behalf of my colleagues in the North, I feel privileged to advocate and promote public education.

Second year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Ottawa-Carleton, Renfrew, Upper Canada, Limestone, Hastings-Prince Edward and Kawartha Pine-Ridge.

The public education system in Ontario is one of high standards and OPSOA plays a key role in ensuring its quality. I am therefore pleased to represent the superintendents from Eastern Ontario on the OPSOA executive.

Member of OPSOA since 2000. OPSOA Conference Committee 2006-2008, Central Region Director 2008-2009, President-Elect 2009-2010, President 2010-2011. I am thankful for the opportunity to have served as President of OPSOA for 2010-2011. It was a rich and rewarding learning experience for me. OPSOA plays a vital role in providing leadership, direction and advocacy in public education in our province. I encourage everyone to be an active member of OPSOA.
